Terex delivers ten RTGs to operate in Xiamen, China

26.09.2011 – Terex Cranes has just delivered ten Rubber Tired Gantry cranes (RTGs), ordered by COSCO Pacific Limited and state-owned Xiamen Haicang Investment Company, to operate in the Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal Co. Ltd. based in Xiamen, China.

The ten Terex® RTG cranes were ordered, as part of a larger twenty units RTG for phase 1 port terminal contract, to serve the increasing TEU volumes in Xiamen area generated by the rapid development of China’s booming economy.

“Our decision was greatly influenced by Terex Port Equipment’s excellent reputation for robust reliable performance. With container volumes through our Phase 1 terminal increasing constantly, we were looking for cranes capable of matching our intensive handling needs in the long-term. We feel confident that our new Terex RTG cranes will be a great contribution in helping us meet the challenge,” says Zhang Junsheng, General Manager of Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal Co. Ltd.

“Terex Port Equipment is proud that Xiamen Haicang Investment Company and a world-leading group like COSCO have put their trust in our machines. We are excited about taking part in the success of our customer’s activity as China’s economy continues to grow,” says Maurizio Altieri, General Manager, Terex Port Equipment Heavy Port Equipment Division (HPE) & Noell Crane Systems (China) Ltd.
