PEMA to host webinar exploring realities facing ports and terminals post Covid-19

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) is to host a webinar entitled The Day After Covoid-19: Expectations, Experiences, and Views, which will include presentations from three leading experts from the global ports and terminals sector followed by a deep-dive Q&A session.

 

The Day After Covid-19: Expectations, Experiences, and Views for Ports and Terminals – a Vital Link of a Modern Supply Chain will be held on May 6, 2020 at 11AM CET on the Zoom video conferencing service.

 

“In these exceptionally challenging times, it is more important than ever that we understand the approaches and technologies needed to forge a new future for the ports and terminals sector. PEMA is dedicated to enabling greater understanding within the sector and the wider community,” says PEMA President and Chairman of the Board, Ottonel Popesco, who will also moderate the event.

 

The centrepiece of the 90-minute webinar will be presentations delivered by three keynote speakers. Fred Huang, President of ZPMC Group China, will provide unique perspectives of port equipment manufacturers under the title Experiences and views as a large Chinese port equipment manufacturer in a modern supply chain post-Covid-19.

 

Lamia Kerdjoudj Belkaid, Secretary General of the Federation of European Private Port Operators, will talk on the theme of Expectations and views of private ports and terminals in the modern supply chain post Covid-19.

 

Anna Gatti PhD, Intesa San Paolo Group Bank board member, and who has held top positions at Google, YouTube, Skype and the World Health Organization, and is an AI and IT specialist, will share her presentation entitled Views on how the existing supply chain including ports might change post COVID-19 and the role of AI/IT in this process.

 

Following these presentations, there will be an interactive Q&A session giving participants the opportunity to discuss issues raised during the presentations in greater depth.
