Pat O’ Leary discusses Retrofitting for the Future at CTAC 2023

PEMA was delighted to have our Head of Technology, Mr. Pat O’Leary, represent the association at #CTAC2023 in Hamburg.

With over 300+ attendees, the conference took place on March 14th-15th and is hosted by PEMA associate members, Port Technology International.

 

 

Pat O’Leary moderated the session “Fast, Smart and Green: Retrofitting for the Future”. This panel included speakers from BOXBAY, YILPORT Iberia, Siemens, and A.P. Moller – Maersk.

The panel discussed the topic from the perspective of both Port and Port Supplier sectors. The presentations and discussion addressed the impact that disruptive technologies such as Boxbay will have on the automation landscape including the sustainability benefits.  The reasons for the relatively low adoption of automation in terminals were also explored as was the success of recently developed automation projects using state-of-the-art technology on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
